Graduate Nurse Program
Longmont United Hospital offers a Graduate Nurse Program to facilitate the transition from student nurse to staff nurse. During your year as a Graduate Nurse, we offer a program that is individualized and comprehensive. Each graduate nurse will have the opportunity to learn from a wide variety of disciplines in the hospital, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Nutrition Services, Social Work, Discharge Planning, and Spiritual Care.
While in the Graduate Nurse Program, you will work up to 36 hours per week on your home unit. In addition, hospital orientation, specialized classroom training and labs, and monthly Graduate Nurse Program meetings are built into your schedule to complete this extensive program.
We like each graduate nurse to experience the personalized care we offer at Longmont United Hospital. We begin by assigning each graduate nurse a mentor that will guide you through your unit-based clinical practice. The Staff Development Team along with your mentor will nurture and develop you to become a caring, confident nurse.
Depending upon the needs of the hospital, we try to offer this program three times a year: Winter, Summer and Fall.
