Mitchell C. Carson, has been President and CEO of Longmont United Hospital since September 2001. With the support of the Longmont United Hospital Board and the combine effort of the hospital leadership and staff, Mitch has helped steward significant changes at Longmont United Hospital. During his term, some key advancements include major site/technology improvements in surgery, cardiopulmonary, emergency, imaging and interventional radiology and technology advancements of Electronic Medical Records, Imaging Picture Archiving and Communications Systems, Electronic Charting, and Physician Clinical Portal.
Mitch also is an advocate of corporate stewardship benefiting the quality of life in the communities served by the hospital. Shortly after relocating to Colorado, he began making an immediate impact in the Longmont and surrounding communities by serving on a variety to non-profit boards. During this time, he has served over five years on both the Longmont Area Economic Council and the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce. He demonstrates a leadership role in the efforts of recruiting and enhancing corporations and businesses, and supplying jobs and services in the area.
Mitch received a Bachelors of Arts with cum laude recognition in Business Administration/Hospital Administration, Concordia College and a Masters of Arts in Hospital and Health Administration, University of Iowa. He completed two residencies in hospital administration as required to be awarded his degrees. Mitch is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executive.
Presently, Mitch resides in Longmont with his wife Pat and their two sons, Ryan and Matthew and is a proud native of Fargo, North Dakota.
